Om Shanti Om Brings Alive the 70’s Period—A Preview
Shah Rukh Khan is back, soon after Chak De India’s tremendous success. This time it is in close friend, Farah Khan’s second venture as a director—Om Shanti Om, a tale based on love and reincarnation. The film also introduces Deepika Padukone, a model-turned-actress. Deepika is the daughter of yesteryear’s Badminton champ, Prakash Padukone.

Producers: Red Chillies Entertainment
Director: Farah Khan
Starring: Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Shreyas Talpade and Arjun Rampal
Music: Vishal–Shekhar
Lyrics: Gulzar
Releasing on: 9 November 2007
Along the storylines of Rishi Kapoor-starrer Karz, Om Shanti Om is set in the 70’s. Om (Shah Rukh Khan) is a junior artist. He is smitten by Shantipriya (Deepika Padukone), a superstar of the 70s. Despite their social differences, the couple comes together in love. But all is not hunky dory. Om is murdered, and there comes to an end, their romantic saga.
Apparently not so! Om is immediately reincarnated, and the story fast-forwards to 2007, where he is a young man (with awesome six pack abs!!!). He is disturbed by the memories of his past life, which pushes him to look for his long lost love. He succeeds in seeking Shanti out. But unfortunately, she is the girl from his previous birth; now old, and obviously several years senior to him. But will the couple surmount the differences of age and unite? Watch Om Shanti Om; it releases this November, the same day as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya.
The 70’s look in Om Shanti Om is pretty much talked about. The music is catching up too. However, it’s the song featuring over 30 stars from Bollywood that has made all the news—there is Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Kajol, Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Balan, Preity Zinta, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif, amongst others. This song is a must-see!

OSO is not a good movie, I’ve already submitted many comments, and don’t understand why people loved it so much!! a 3hrs movie which I got bored, and the music is not bad, only Deewangi song is the best part of the movie and because of SRK’s magic. The story is ok, but if this movie was made be any other bigger director, I think it would have been much better in terms of direction.
Comparing to Saawariya, Saawariya is a great movie the music is extraordinary, but shallow people won’t love it, shallow people would love only ha.ha.ha.. hee.hee.hee movies!!
