Om Shanti Om - Saawariya this Diwali: one or both ?

Holidays are here again and if you have been wondering what to do after all that shopping and visiting just sit back and relax but in a movie theater. This holiday has a difficult choice for you in terms of movies. The much talked about and awaited movies are now ready for release.

Yes it is Saawariya with its two debutantes Ranbir and Sonam who are all set to hit the screens this Diwali under Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production. Ranbir and Sonam are debuting but nevertheless bollywood has been their playground because Sonam is Anil Kapoors daughter and Ranbir is the blue eyed boy of the Raj Kapoor family and is Rishi Kapoor’s son. Will this pair make a big hit? It is still left to see but Sanjay Leela Bhansali has proven his mettle too many times and still has his “mother’s aashirwaad” going strong for him as he says in all the award shows.

The other movie is Shahrukh “King” Khan’s Om Shanti Om. First time under wifey Gauri Khans production and being directed by close friend Farah Khan, Om Shanti Om will be hitting theaters this Diwali. Om Shanti Om is a journey of a couple through three decades of love and the tumultuous relationship they shared and still were deeply in love. Introducing Deeppika Padukone and the other actors are Shreyas Talpade of Iqbal fame, Arjun Rampal, and Bindu. What happens to this love story is for you to see and let me assure you that this is no common love story which has a” Happily ever after” or “let’s part” ending. See it to know it…

Surprisingly the contrast between the mega movies is both the Kapoor family’s debutante off springs have a great backing in the form of Sanjay Leela Bhansali under a mega production and Om Shanti Om is a Mega Star Movie. Will the new debutantes make it big at the box office because history has created a lot of pairs in bollywood but will this young couplet make it? Will history repeat itself?
