Hollywood producers plan to sue Salman Khan ’s Partner

In a new development, the producers of Hollywood superhit Hitch, Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures, are reportedly considering a multi-million dollar suit. And this is against the producers of Govinda-Salman starrer Partner.

The movie Partner is a direct lift from the Hollywood hit Hitch and such plagiarism has been prevalent in Bollywood since long. The Hollywood producers alleged Partner to be a direct lift from their romantic comedy. Indian courts do not help much in such copyright cases and this surely leads more and more Bollywood producers and directors lifting Hollywood movies shamelessly. Getting inspired by a plot or a movie is understandable but shameless copying frame to frame and raking millions is surely not acceptable.

Few years (3 years) back Bappi Lahiri stayed in Los Angeles for a year to sue the Hollywood producers of the album Truthfully Speaking, which contains the Truth Hurts song Addictive because it had Lata Mangeshkar’s song Thoda Resham Lagta Hai in the background. Bappi Lahiri won the suit !! Bappida who has copied innumerable Hollywood songs all throughout his career had no shame in going after them.

Now that Bollywood does a lot of business in US and UK, its easier to sue Bollywood producers on copyright issues. And we hope this trend stops our talented directors from getting tempted to lift movies scene by scene. Is the Bhatt camp listening ?
