The Khans do rock…SRK is the Best and the best we will ever have!! Amir, well he is a talented actor but he’s a pompous character. Saif is a good actor too. Salman should just settle down and get married.
Apart from the Khans, i believe one of the better actors was Sanjay Dutt. Hrithik is good too but he needs to stop dancing all the time. John Abraham is ok. Abhishek is very sincere in his work. He is a not a very good dancer but an OK actor.
Similarily, his wife Aishwarya is not a very good actor but she can put in a sincere performance, given the right director. So to classify her as a bad or untalented actor is NOT RIGHT! Most of the actors needs a good director to tap out the best from them. Sanjay Leela Bhansali proved that with Ash.
OK on the current topic of part of Bollywood being against her, of course this is plain stupid. She is part of Bollywood and she is a brand ambassador for many products bridging India across the Globe and taking Bollywood across the world to be known internationally. The talks shows in David Letterman, Oprah Winfrey and the 60 minutes show itself proves India’s mettle. So why be jealous and say things like Fake, plastic, arrogant, stuck up, bitchy about her rather be proud of our Indian Sister who is famous. Be proud people! I love Indians! and India! and its people and its actors too!

I think most big bollywood directors and producers who do not want to be associated with Aishwarya are just plain cowards. THe Khans do not rule and own Bollywood…and Aishwarya is bold enough to withstand all slander and accusation..She is always so composed even when the going is rough..Part of Bollywood can carry on this ridiculous vendetta against her…but she’s still stands strong…Truly a woman of Substance!

Ash lost out because of Salman Khan and Him only. It was because of his jealousy that led him to the sets of Chalte Chalte causing a ruckus. The result was of course a replacement in the form of Rani who readily agreed as her career was in a low at that time. Even SRK did not want to work with Rani initially. So he cancels the shoot and replaces Rani with Ash without informing Ash a month later when he resumes shooting. SRK did it at the best interest of his home production so he said. Whatever happened to courtesy??!! That’s the reason Ash got hurt in the first place as she was very friendly with SRK and his family. SRK did not bother about principle as long as his film was complete. That’s how SRK values friendship I suppose!
Yes I would have to agree with you that the main reason she came to Bollywood was because of her looks…that’s true…then again most of the beauty queens landed cause of their looks…( Kalpana Iyer, Juhi Chawla, Meenakshi Seshadri, Prem Narayan, Sonu Walia, Pooja Bhatra, Zeenat Aman, and of course much later Sushmita, Lara, Priyanka and Celina etc) It’s the look and the fame that gets them in but to sustain and remain takes talent in some form or rather. Some of these gals sustained, some faded out, some phased out. So looks does play a part in an actors life to some extent.
On the issue of Yash Raj camp, yes she was first choice and as far as Veer Zaara was concerned, SRK did mention and sent feelers down the Yash Raj camp that he had reservations about working with Aish and there was a lot of water under the bridge…and I believe the same thing went down with her as far as SRK was concerned and hence she opted out. Preity was brought in and she even had the courtesy to call Aish to say that she was going to play the role that was originally designed for her. That’s the reason why Aish still respects and adores Priety as she had the key word “COURTESYâ€Â. The story about her taking time to sign the films is ridiculous…Please check your facts first!! Only in Mangel Pandey, she asked for an extension of her role and it eventually went to Amisha Patel whose role was soon forgotten after the film! So ??? whoever you are please check facts my friend before passing judgement on Aish!
Now on Dhoom 2, you say at the age of 33 she stripped and kissed Hrithik…Remember Madhuri did it in her 30’s with younger heroes like Sanjay Kappor and Akshay Kumar ( think Akshay is of same age) and Akshaye Khanna. Just for the record….tell me which actress doesn’t kiss nowadays and strip…Raveena did it for her art movies…that too in her 30’s. It doesn’t matter what your age is and if the role calls for it and you can pull if off..its good for the actress don’t you think so?!
Mistress of Spices flopped…but Bride and Prejudice did a commercially well in the UK. So did Provoked. Only the hindi version of Bride failed in India. Get your facts right again.
Choker Bali did not fail in India…it garnered a fair business. Her role was ok. It was not an award winning role but it was ok. ( she would have won but her voice was dubbed, since it was a Bengali film). Umrao Jaan failed miserably in India…but did you check my dear???? that it did quite well in UK, US and Australia?? Once again ??? check your facts! Anyway I did not enjoy Umrao Jaan…The original with Rekha was simply mind blowing! Aishwarya did try very sincerely to be the perfect Ameeran, but I guess when it comes to Ameeran its only Rekha who could enact and live that role.
And what do you mean in terms of stardom she didn’t get many successful films?? And excuse me…HDDCS was a hit and not a semi-hit! And her contribution to films like Devdas..she was there in every frame of the movie… Dhoom 2 saw the chemistry between her and Hrithik and it was hot! And Guru, she was quiet and subdued and gave a good supportive role. She doesn’t need Yash Raj, Dhoom 2 and the Bachchans for attention.. she was Miss World in 1994 and she is a brand ambassador for Loreal and she has taken part in many advertisements…She was on time magazine’s cover…attended many prestigious global functions…was a on the jury panel in the Cannes International Film Festival in 2003 and always a participant in the Cannes Festival every year. She has a waxed mannequin of herself in Madame Tussauds…and finally a tulip in Amsterdam has been named after her. Do I need to go further???!!!
I mean I love Rani, Kajol etc….but as far as stardom is concerned…they can never be anywhere near Aishwarya Rai…She is a class apart and in her league of her own! Yes Rani and Kajol may be better actors…and Aish may not be the best but is still ONE OF THE BEST we have…
She is very human and will make mistakes just like her contemporaries.. and NOT ALL THE KHANS rock OK! Maybe only SRK and AMIR rock!. They are far better actors in Bollywood than the KHANS! And it was only after Aish, that all these male actors want to try the west..If they do so succeed, good for them. ( Anyway, FYI, most of my friends in US know Aishwarya Rai from the Loreal Products…so there!) OH yes if she gets divorced or vice versa…well that’s their lives and their decision….But Am sure you and many out there who hate her would be waiting for this to happen!! For heavens sake give Aishwarya Rai a break!

Its not ash who stopped working with the khan’s, but rather it’s the khan’s. Sallu obviously wouldn’t ever work again with her because of their in-famous affair - break-up, she was kicked out of Mangal Pandey by Aamir because of her being demanding and acting as the diva (which she never was), while it was SRK who booted her from Chalte Chalte. The main factor that brought her to the bollywood industry was her looks (miss world) which also brought yukta mukhi (who was she?), Lara Dutta, Sushmita Sen and Priyanka Chopra.
On the issue of her not giving a monkey’s arse about the yashraj camp, well even though she was first choice for their movies (after mohabbtein), and she was taking a hell lot of a time to sign the films (even the great Yash Chopra’s Veer Zaara, don’t know why), they did replace and the leading actresses did do really well. (And whoever thinks Rani Sucks, go and watch Black please!!!!! Don’t think ash will be able to come close to her shoes, Also Preity/priyanka got roles in roshan’s last two films not coz ash rejected them but because she looked too old )
In fact if it weren’t for the Yashraj camp, she wouldn’t have hade a hit in 3/4 years (in the form of Dhoom 2, since Devdas; which was SRK’S film!!!). Speaking about her so-called dignity, why at the age of 33, did she sign a film of Dhoom 2 (film for the youth) and sign a film consisted of no acting but only striping off cloths and kissing hrithik? She only received opportunities in the west because the directors were Indian and even then all three of her films were critically and commercially unsuccessful (mistress of.., pride and…, and provoked).
It’s also weird how other “successful and famous†actresses like Rani, Kajol and Preity were able to make films with the khan’s (and hrithik) without creating a rift like her.
In films like choker Bali, raincoat and Umrao Jaan she did not even gain any great critical acclaim like Madhuri, Shabana Azmi and Rani did outside of the mainstream cinema (I personally didn’t applaud her acting but thought it will get recognized). Also in terms of stardom she hasn’t had many success, and even then she didn’t contribute as much in her hit films (e.g. Devdas = she was good, but SRK, Madhuri were better, Dhoom 2 = all about hrithik (if not then bipasha booty), unless taking off cloths and kissing is what u call contribution, Guru = was a biopic of a man/Abhishek and wasn’t really her film, HDDCS = fabulous film, her acting was first class, so was salman’s & Ajay’s, but the film was only a semi-hit). If it weren’t for Yashraj, Dhoom 2 and the Bachchan camp, she wouldn’t have had the media attention is getting now, so she isn’t a star, a highly dignified person (apart from the whole salman khan affair) or the great actress the media, her fans or the bachchan’s claim her to be. Like Jaya, she too will stop acting in films in 2 years time despite what her in-laws say now. As for the khans all four of them (and hrithik) rock and will take bollywood to the west (which ash miserably failed at)!!!! P.S. don’t be surprised if she does get divorced by Abhishek or vice versa!!!
