Aishwarya Rai v/s Rest of Bollywood
It was during the shooting of Chalte Chalte, that Salman Khan got into the sets and accused Shahrukh Khan of getting “too friendly” with his girlfriend Aishwarya Rai. Aishwarya was replaced with Rani Mukherjee and then started a big rivarly in Bollywood … Salman and SRK. Since then, rumor has it that Aishwarya Rai and most of the Bollywood biggies never saw eye to eye.
Aamir Khan vowed never to work with Ash for personal issues. Hrithik Roshan ’s dad thought Ash was too old to work with Hrithik. Salman Khan was obviously not in the list of probable co-stars after their affair went into bad weather. Shahrukh Khan ’s last movie with Ash was Devdas and that was all for him. So Ash went ahead and did movies with not-such-a-star Abhishek, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan .. etc etc. Oh .. we forgot Vivek Oberio. And this was definitely not working.
Aishwarya then moved to Hollywood .. did some desi roles for desi directors. And then Kajra re happened and then Abhishek Bachchan and 30 and Dhoom2 finally happened. Aishwarya had to get married and settle down. Amitabh-Abhishek and SRK’s relationship went wrong during Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Camps were formed. SRK-Preity-Rani-Karan in one and Amitabh-Abhishek in another.
And then the marriage happened and guess what.. Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik (Abhisheks childhood friend), Salman Khan, Saif, none of the leading females … no one .. no one was invited. The Khans met in a private party .. the old rivalries between Salman SRK was forgetten. And rumor has it that they decided to boycott Aishwarya and Abhishek. So now we will have Ash working with only Abhishek in the forthcoming movies. Akbar Jodha is almost done .. so discount that.
And so if things go on like this .. we will soon see only Abhi-Ash movies and possible that Aishwarya Rai will soon retire. But how the world will see it unfolding is :

Ash will take a years break and possibly never come back to Bollywood !! We as fans would love to see more of her .. but looks like the end of the beautiful career is almost over. It was a nice ride and we hope that the forthcoming movies have the best Aishwarya has to offer.

Michael, i totally agreee with you on Aishwarya…she is what she is…different from the rest…unique and competent…and different…thats why she stands out among the cream of the crop!!
and to top it all she isnt bothered about anyone or any big director…she always calls the shots. she even turned down Will Smith as she was busy for Jodha Akhbar. Such is her commitment. she is not running after Hollywood. If it comes it comes thats her policy. Even with all the kissing controversy, and Dhoom 2, she cant be bothered as she did kissing scenes in her initial movies like Taal and later in Shabd. She always said she will cross the bridge when she comes to it.

Well, King Khan I will agree with you on SRK’s popularity..i myself luv his movies and he is my favourite actor for now..And yes if the statistics are as you say there are…so be it!!
But you know as the saying goes…there is a time and season for everything…nothing lasts forever..So will SRK’s popularity anfd fame in due course…Amitabh on the other hand even at this age can still give a decent performance…Its not the draw..its about sustaining it…and Amitabh Bachchan was and is our aging superstar…SRK is the current superstar.
About his liaison with the Minister and so forth…thats not really the issue of discussion…I really do not believe from where you’ve got that ridiculous story about him getting some letter at the height of his career…He only went into politics in the 90’s and dropped out in the late 90’s.
And yes the book is about SRK the superstar of the moment…lets not forget the Female Bollywood superstar who happens to be Aishwarya…there’s no book about the others.( if you are referring to the book)
And why do you say SRK breaks down…Amit, Abhi and Ash will follow suit??? Come on pal…get real…ok there are all actors in the same field…they will greet each other in diplomacy and earn the same big bucks…its you and I who will end up giving our difference of opionons and upsetting each other in the process!!
Bottomline…SRK is the current long reigining Superstar of Bollywood. Amitabh was and now is the more established actor of the millennium…before him was Dilip Kumar, the great thespian…
My point….i actually deviated from the main point once again…see where this takes us…
I think Aishwarya has lot of guts…she is brave enough to take on assignments that are different and she is not a “SAFE” actress and in nobody’s camp…she lays down the rules for herself…and i believe will always be the diva she is…She is not afraid of risks…and that makes her stand out as a different personality…she never retaliates at the press, the magazines…the ppl calling her names…she just carries on with dignity…She may not be the most talented actress around…but she is definitely a competent one…She may not be the most beautiful woman in the world…but yet she is one of the prettiest women around…i and i do hope and pray that she and SRK will act together some day…they will look hot together.
