Aamir Khan starrer ‘Rang De Basanti’ gets BAFTA nomination
The British Academy Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTA) have nominated Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra’s ‘Rang De Basanti’ (RDB) in the Best Non-English Film Category. It is certainly a matter of exceptional pride not only for the entire team of RDB, but also for Bollywood and the entire nation.

The BAFTA awards will be February 11 at the Royal Opera House in London. It also needs mention here that RDB is India’s official entry for the same category at Oscars 2007.The nominations announced at BAFTA headquarters in Piccadilly, left the entire team of RDB in a jubilant and festive mood. The film features Aamir Khan, Siddharth, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan and Alice Patten.
The film features the charismatic influence by the freedom fighters of our country on the younger generation. The film could also be termed as a revisit in the lives of the legendary freedom fighters of British India.
Rang De Basanti will have to compete in this category with other films like Apocalypto, Volver and Black Book. The Maker of the film is quite hopeful of receiving the covetous award as because critics at home have earlier showered lofty praises on it and RDB has also received here many awards. Best of luck to ‘Rang De Basanti’.
