An online survey was conducted by the New York Dog and Hollywood Dog magazines - and the pop diva has topped the list for the World’s Worst Celebrity Dog Owner of 2006. “She once had three Chihuahuas (Lacy, Lucky and Bit-Bit) and never left home without at least one of them on her arm. As soon as she met Federline and had kids, they disappeared.” She claims that she has given the dogs away to friends.

And now it’s Federline who has outlived his existence in Spear’s life! He has been notified of his impending divorce too.

Another dubious distinction to Spears’ discredit was that according to viralvideocharts.com a home-video clip shot by Federline where in you can see the singer burping and babbling was considered the number one celebrity viral video of the year.

uMoving on with the dog story - pal Paris Hilton didn’t want to be left far behind. She came in second place in the World’s Worst Celebrity Dog Owners list. The fashion statement she had made through the year was to treat her dogs like ‘accessories’ which of course was not well received by the dog loving community.

Serena Williams the tennis superstar came in a close third when she had the audacity to disown her tan pit bull which had bitten the behind of one her security guards. Thankfully a stuffed wallet prevented any injury to the guard.

Looking at the brighter side! Oprah Winfrey the talk show hostess topped the list of World’s Best Celebrity Dog Owner. Small wonder that - if you can appreciate the effort that she has taken to make her dogs’ lives a paradise! She owns five pooches - and know what? Hold your breath - each has its own nanny!

‘Kiss the Bride’ star and a supporter of MuchAnimal rescue group Torie Spelling came in second after Oprah. You just can’t have missed her pudgy pug accompanying her to almost all events!

Another supporter of animal rescue Nicolette Sheridan the ‘Desperate Housewives’ star too earned a spot here in the Best Celebrity Dog Owner’s list. Residents of Beverly Hills cannot have missed Nicole and Oliver, her golden retriever who often romp through the town.
