Review of ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’

‘Apna Sapna Money Money’ (ASMM), produced by Raju Farooqui and directed by Sangeeth Sivan starring Riteish Deshmukh, Koena Mitra emerged as a dark horse in the box-office. Released simultaneously with the much hyped ‘Vivah’ by Sooraj Barjatya, ASMM has taken an upper hand in context of its modest budget and reasonable price at which it is sold.

ASMM, hardly after a week of its release is found to rope in commendable viewers thereby paving its way to success. The collection this film has made throughout the country is quite commendable. The last film directed by Sangeeth Sivan was ‘Kya Kool Hai Hum’. The difference between his 2 films lies in the fact that the first one was made for college-goers while ASMM is for the family audience.

Apart from Riteish Deshmukh and Koena Mitra, the other big names associated with this movie are Suneil Shetty, in a comical role. Suneil did complete justice to this comical character. ASMM also saw the comeback of Chunkey Pandey in his truest stride. The music of the film is scored by Pritam and Shabbir Ahmed wrote the lyrics.

The story evolves around a group chasing diamonds worth Rs. 50 crore. The chemistry between Deshmukh and Koena was wonderfully weaved. If the film can maintain its tempo in the second week also, it can then me ranked comfortably as a hit.
