Aishwarya Rai given clean chit on Euro Parcel case
A mysterious parcel addressed to Aishwarya Rai , containing 23,000 euros (Rs 13.5 lakh) evoked great controversy. However, after two hours long interrogation by Customs officials at the Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, she was given a clean chit.
The parcel in question contained a top-brand shirt, a pair of binoculars, a DVD player and other electronic items besides the currency. It was sent from Rotterdam in the Netherlands and marked to Aishwarya Rai . Immediately after this discovery, a storm was raised. Krishnaraj Rai, father of the actress had met the Customs officials on November 15 to clarify her position on the issue.
It was after that the Custom Authorities summoned Ash in person to clarify her position on the parcel. The actress during the interrogation, however, denied that the parcel containing the currency belonged to her.
After getting clean chit from the authorities, Aishwarya Rai left for Jaipur where the shooting of her forthcoming film Jodha Akbar directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar is going on.
