Akila, my dear Akila,
Aish lost out on many movies because of the Chalte Chalte incident, ok! you must have read it as it was out in print many many moons ago! ( I am surprised if you havent since you also know so much bout Ash in particular) The Salman incident in her life and the ruckus he cause on the sets of Chalte Chalte made even SRK cut her off! Boy some friend eh!
and not only he, but many other directors and producers did so. that is the precise reason why she lost out. bUT IT did not stop her… FYI Akila, she signed BRide and Prejudice way before all this things happened…ok…for heaven’s sake Akila, get your freakin’ facts RIGHT before making all these sweeping statements! …
ANyway, now she is back…i will not call her the queen of bollywood or anything like that…she is just ONE OF THE BEST among the BEST!
She is often termed plastic and corny,,,these jargons are by the some sick ppl from the media and of course some baseless misinformed ppl who just luvs to undermine her…and her acting…even if she does act well she is criticized!
Its just becoming so habitual…

neha said ash lost out on movies because of her ego. but “ego” isnt the right word. it’s called self-respect . she was certainly miffed with SRK since he threw her out of chalte chalte for something which salman did. and that too by lying to her that the film is shelved. and rani who was supposed to be her friend didnt bother to inform ash in order to prove her loyalty to SRK ji. she walked out of bajirao mastani since she couldnt work with sallu. it needs guts to refuse to work with bhansali and salman. after chalte-2 SRK began recommending rani and preity for his films. u know veer zaara was earlier written for SRK and Ash. back then they were the happening pair after the success of mohabbatein and devdas. it was SRK who insisted on having Ash in the item number ISHQ kamina from SHAKti. coming back to veer zaara … rani’s role(lawyer’s role) was initially a male character. when yashraj came to know that ASH-SRK combination is no longer viable they wanted to compensate for the loss of ASH. they brought in preity. but they knew it wasnt enough. so they changed the gender of the lawyer and brought in rani. the makers themselves have admitted in interviews that they did so and so thing to accomodate rani. u know what’s their equation. its
ASH = PREITY + RANI.
the lawyer’s role was earlier offered to ajay devgan which he promptly refused as he didnt want to play second fiddle to SRK.
so if a lady stands up for her self respect its not ego. someone like rani would have still said “Its ok. I understand” and sucked upto SRK. remeber there was a time when rani and govinda were an item. she made a number of movies with him which eventually went unnoticed. but when she became a hit machine and made a pair with bigger stars she ditched him. isnt that manipulation ?ash’s movies, even if flops, never go unnoticed. they are so much talked about. and if ash pursued hollywood its because they also showed interest in her. theirs nothing wrong with that. every 1 has to try to achieve thinngs in life. no one comes and hands things to u if u sit idle.

how do you know all these politics of bollywood? i will agree with you that abhishek looks like a jat from harayna and is not anywhere close to hrithik in looks, but he has a backing from a very popular father. i am not a great fan , i mean, not even a fan of priyanka, but what does she have to do with kareena’s career. why ash is not cast in karan johar movies? because she was too busy pursuing hollywood, while rani was sucking up to SRK , aamir khan, chopras and johar. i am a fan of rani, after KANK, but somebody’s loss is always somebody’s gain. Ash lost out to good films because of her ego, she thought she was too good for bollywood, after Devdas and during the bride and prejudice time, she completely dissapeared from the bollywood circle( unless she was getting some cosmetic surgey done)
