‘Apna Sapna…’ score is fun

“Apna Sapna…” belongs to the recent genre of fun-filled films like “No Entry”, and “Kya Kool Hain Hum”, which are characterised by situational music, humorous or easy-going lyrics and remixes.

The album starts off with “Jai jai money” sung by Sukhwinder Singh with supporting vocals by Rana Mazumdar and rapper Bob. There is a heavy dose of electro-synchronisation in the number, which may appeal to moppet show lovers only.

The next song “Gustakh nigah”, another fun-filled one by Sukhwinder and Alisha Chinoi, also has plentiful musical arrangements.

“Dil mein baji guitar” by Mika Singh is the song doing the rounds these days in musical countdowns and was also there in the promos before the film’s release. It has some folk elements - similar to what some Goanese songs have - and that makes the song listen-able.

There is also a version of the song by Amit Kumar. Pritam has a craving for trying out singers and this time he has brought in Amit.

“Paisa Paisa” starts with some rap before Suzzanne D’ Mello and Humza take over but the hip-hop feeling is there throughout. A mundane track which resembles many a rap ‘n reggae number.

“Sania badnaam” is a fun-filled number by Sunidhi Chauhan with rap elements fused in between by Bob.

There is also a musical piece “Aey Ganpat baja na” related to the song sung during Ganpati festivals.

Then there is a bevy of remixes - extended club mix, Arabian house mix, dub mix and what not - of almost all songs. DJs Suketu, A-Myth, Kiran and Akbar Sami go all out for these mixes and remixes.

Nothing great can be written about the songs. Pritam is not a conjuror like those musicians of yesteryears who could compose for almost all situations.

The “Apna Sapna…” score is purely situational and perhaps could garner some listeners if the film appeals to them. Otherwise, not worth a buy.
