Noted Producer N.N. Sippy is no more.
A legendary figure in the saga of film production, N.N. Sippy breathed his last in the Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai at 6.50 P.M. on Monday at the age of 75 years. Sippy was suffering from heart related diseases and was admiited to the hospital last week, where he finally closed his eyes leaving behind a son, three daughters and innumerable friends and well-wishers.

He summed up the motto of his life in these beautiful words: ‘One should be well acquainted with all the parameters of filmmaking. Otherwise this is no place for you’. In the year 1959, he started his production career at Mumbai. Under his production banner, some biggest hits were achieved in the 1970’s and 80’s.
His successful innings saw the making of the following films: Silsila Hai Pyar Ka (1999), Teesra Kaun (1994), Aaj Ka Goondaraj (1992), Aag Se Khelenge (1989), Meri Jung (1985), Ghazab (1982), Phir Wahi Raat (1980), Sargam (1979), Devtaa (1978), Ghar (1978), Fakira (1976),Kalicharan (1976), Chor Machaye Shor (1974), Haar Jeet (1972),Paras (1971).
‘You have to really know your work to be able to keep up with the changing trends in filmmaking, and to ensure that the audiences keep on watching your films’, was how this genius defined the trade. It was N.N. Sippy who gave the first break to the director of the stature of Subhash Ghai.
