Kajol knocks out Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik beat Shahrukh Khan
Year 2006 has been a great comeback year for Kajol and the results at the Most Popular Bollywood Star 2006 proved that. Kajol knocked out Aishwarya Rai in the semi finals to move to the finals where she plays Preity Zinta .
If one looks at 2006, Kajol has made a great comeback with Faana and her popularity among fans has propelled her to a 52:48 win over Aishwarya Rai . 2006 is not over yet and could prove to be Aishwarya’s most succesful year in Bollywood with a series of releases lined up including Dhoom2, Guru and Salame Ishq. Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee, both equally succesful in Bollywood, fought it out with Preity winning the semis by a similar margin. The handsome hunk Hrithik Roshan with his newfound super powers eliminated King Khan Shahrukh Khan in another semi final. Shahrukh’s popularity has gone down a little since Kabhi Alvida but a new dawn awaits him in Don !! In the father and son fight, Amitabh Bachchan proved that he is still popular among both the young and the old generation as he beat his son Abhishek Bachchan by the most comfortable margin among the semis.
We believe a lot of the votes have gone in against the bigger stars mainly because readers think they are overrated and hyped. Acting skills, success in Bollywood, diversity of roles tried and general likeability factor played a much bigger role in this contest more than the general awe and star following. 2006 has been a different year in Bollywood and with more to come both in 2006 and the Most Popular Bollywood Star 2006, let us see whats in store.

Salman is a decent person and a family man. He did not run over anyone intentionally (he wasn’t even driving), it was an accident that was blown out of proportion by the media. If srk or amitabh had a similar accident, people would have forgiven them a long time ago. Last year both John abraham and Saif Ali Khan ran over people with their vehicles and what did the media do …. they just decided to go easy on those two yasraj favourites.
Salman doesn’t beat up on people but when someone pushes he around him should be able to defend himself. It’s only fair.
Also, when did animals take precedence over humans. How many times have you walked by a poor starving child on the streets of India without blinking an eye. Be honest!
