‘Rang De Basanti` to run for seven other Oscar categories
Mumbai, Oct 1 : Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s super hit film “Rang De Basanti”, India`s official entry for best foreign language film at the Oscars, will also compete in seven other main categories.
This Aamir Khan-starrer will compete in best film, direction, cinematography, screenplay, editing, art direction and sound design at the 79th Oscars in February 2007.
Ronnie Screwvala, producer of the film, confirmed reports saying, “We are sending our film for seven main categories.”
The cast and crew of the film has decided to re-release the edited version of the film in the US to create awareness, said a source.
