Box Office : Omkara a flop, KANK inches forward.

Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna ( KANK ) saw a big drop in ticket sales this week after an amazing collection both in India and overseas. Karan Johar’s KANK has already collected more than 28 crores which already beats out the record set by Krrish a few weeks back. The huge starcast of Kank surely had a big role to play in this with days of advance tickets sales even before the movie released. Shahrukh Khan has always been a crowd puller and a combination of Amitabh Bachchan , Shahrukh Khan , Abhishek Bachchan , Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee and Karan Johar surely worked at the box office.

Though critically acclaimed, multistarrer Omkara was declared a flop. Strong performances from Ajay Devgun, Vivek and Saif Ali Khan could not save the movie. Anthony Kaun Hain bombed. The magic duo of Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt will have to reincarnate in a more prominent form in Munnabhai Lage Raho to impress. Sanjubaba was in a guest role in this movie. Salman Khan starrer Shadhi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar was a disaster along with Ram Gopal Verma production Darwaza Banddh Rakho.

Corporate was a lower budget movie and performed badly even after the huge promotions and hype. Golmaal was declared a hit. Multistarrer comedies have been doing good at the Bollywood Box Office recently. Faana and Phir Hera Pheri were Superhits keeping Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar flying high. But the Bollywood hunk, Hrithik Roshan takes the cake for delivering a Super Duper Hit with Krrish … singlehandedly !! The success of Faana and Krrish prove that movies which try something original are rewarded.
