Sania Mirza out of Cincinnati Open
New Delhi, July 22 : Ninth seed Sania Mirza fought valiantly before top seed Patty Schnyder of Switzerland defeated the Indian 7-6 (9-7), 7-5 in a rain-delayed quarter-final match of the $175,000 Cincinnati Open tennis, reports reaching here said.
Rains twice interrupted the match.

Sania, however, is still alive in the tournament as she plays the doubles semi-finals along with her Polish partner Marta Domachowska. Sania and Domachowska are the third seeds in the tournament.
Schnyder, who has so far not lost a set in the tournament, will play fourth seed Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia in the semi-final.
Srebotnik overwhelmed sixth-seeded Marion Bartoli of France 6-2, 6-1 to reach her first semi-final of the year.
