Lage Raho Munnabhai is slated to be the most successful movie of the year according to Euro RSCG. 61 % of the people indicated that Munna & Circuit would earn 'Super hit' status for the movie. Bollywood Predictameter predicts the fate of 18 top films to be released this year. And RSCG's Bollywood Predictameter study predicts that Lage Raho Munnabhai will be a super hit.
The Predictameter is a forecasting tool that aims at providing insights into any given category. Euro RSCG has used this tool to predict the fate of 18 of the top Bollywood movies, to be released later this year. Critical to the science of predicting the future are a set of people who Euro RSCG calls 'Prosumers'. Prosumers are a special group of customers who are more knowledgeable in a given category.
Close to 61 per cent of the prosumers indicated that Munna and Circuit (two lead characters of the movie) would earn 'Super hit' status for the movie. 36 per cent of prosumers indicated that Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna would be a super hit; it came in a distant second to Lage Raho Munnabhai.
The study further states that Lage Raho Munnabhai would be a bigger hit than Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, while The Killer will make more bucks than Naseeruddin Shah's directorial debut, Yun Hota To Kya Hota. Close to 57 per cent of the prosumers have indicated that both Don and Dhoom 2 would be stupendous flops. The novelty value for the products does not exist at all, according to the prosumers. However, consumer opinion indicates that both Don and Dhoom 2 will be 'average hits'.

|

Well I watched the trailer for KANK during Fana and lemme tell you...the same ol sappy thing. Rani's eye bags and Abhis temper. SRK's sad puppy love face. Preity kinda impressed me. So I'd rather catch the trailer for D2 on the net.

Divya Dutta resurfaces with a slew of films, and talks about her bonding with Aishwarya Rai Ram Kamal Mukherjee
Divya Dutta who disappeared after playing a cameo in Yash Chopra's Veer Zaara, is on a roll this year with a record line-up of one release a month. Leading her list is J P Dutta's Umrao Jaan, where she plays Shabana Azmi's daughter and Aishwarya Rai's sister.
Her character in this film is a new addition and was absent from Muzaffar Ali's original film. “My character has been developed by J P Dutta himself. In fact, he was very surprised to see so many beautiful women around. J P would say, 'Where are my brave soldiers? I am going crazy with so many women around me,” says Divya.
Did she bond well with Aishwarya Rai? “I always imagined her to be snooty. But one day when I was sitting quietly in a corner, she came up to me and inquired after my health. She is a caring person and shares a brilliant rapport with everyone,” says Divya. Incidentally, she had to perform one solo and duet number with Aishwarya in the film.
Besides Umrao Jaan, Divya is awaiting the release of Chakravarthy's Darwaza Bandh Rakkho. “It's a dark comedy where I play a typical Maharastrian bai. And no, I didn't draw inspiration for the character from my own maid,” she says.
And after a housemaid, it's a housewife in Trishna, with Yashpal Yadav playing the husband who involves her in a crime he commits. “The film revolves around baby-selling — an obviously dark subject,” she says.
Then there's Apne. “It was fun working with the Deols. I come from the same village in Punjab that Dharamji comes from. So I used to talk to Dharamji and Sunny in Punjabi. Bobby is still learning the language though,” she says. Divya insists that Dharmendra is the best among the Deols. “There was an emotional scene and Dharamji pulled it off without glycerine. In fact, after the shot we all had tears in our eyes,” she recollects.
Divya will be also seen as the protagonist in Gudiya, and also plays an important role in Gurdas Mann's next Hindi venture with Juhi Chawla. “I don't have any time to mingle. I have been working round the clock and my friends are complaining,” she says.

Preity Zinta Every year the Indian representation at the Cannes is increasing, but frankly, the only Indian star recognized at the Cannes is Aishwarya Rai. She was one of jury members; she’s a spokesperson for Loreal, hence she’s plastered all over there.
Poet-lyricist Gulzar He attributes the success of 'Kajrare' to Aishwarya Rai.
"A lot of songs become a success, but only a few become a rage. I know so many people who keep going back to 'Kajrare' because of Aishwarya's dance. Objectively speaking, the song was a success more because of Aishwarya's dance than my words.
Isha Sharvani For someone who has learnt dance for many years, Isha admires other actors and their dancing skills. Some of her favourites are Rekha, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai. “You don’t need to know the technicalities of dancing to be a good dancer. These actors have such great body language,” she justifies. Surprisingly enough, Isha is always looking for a role which does not need her to dance. “I don’t want to be typecast as a dancing actor.”

Surprise, surprise! Narend’s back on party scene

DURBAN has been star-struck in recent weeks with such prominent Bollywood luminaries as Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan in town for the filming of scenes for the blockbuster movie Dhoom 2.
Diehard fans had a chance of a lifetime to get up close and personal with the trio at a farewell party on the Sundeck at Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World.
As usual, the Moosa family made gracious hosts, with Moosa Moosa on hand to greet VIP guests with his wife, Mariam, who looked regal in an elegant black-and-gold sari.
After an anxious wait, the stars arrived amid much fanfare and flashlights in a convoy of 4x4s, accompanied by Moosa’s son, AB.
AB looked the part, too, handsome in a plain black suit which, I bet, was an Armani (even though I didn’t get to see the label).
Aishwarya was as beautiful in real life as she is on the big screen in a stunning black top worn over blue skinny jeans tucked into black boots. Her look was topped off with a short brown jacket.
Her two co-stars, Bachchan and Roshan, favoured blue jeans and shirts.
And just as briskly as they’d arrived, they were whisked away after a few photos to watch Pirates of the Caribbean at the Suncoast cinema.
The exclusive VIP area was watched over by a burly bouncer from the casino.
Among those who dined with the stars was Kessie Naidu, a regular VIP at Suncoast events.
I also bumped into Ashwin Trikamjee of the SA Hindu Maha Sabha and Miller Matola, former head of Tourism KZN who is now big boss at the ICC.
Former arts, culture and tourism MEC Narend Singh made a surprise appearance at the party with wife Manitha, daughter Keshika and son-in-law Raven Behari.
Appearing relaxed and happy to be back on the social scene after the DVD scandal earlier this year, he looked every inch the once debonair politician in a black-and-white striped shirt under a black leather jacket.
He told me that although he was not sure what the future held for him, he didn’t rule out a return to the provincial political scene as he and his family put the past behind them.
eThekwini deputy mayor Logie Naidoo was also there in a black suit with tiny, opaque beading on the jacket.
The city’s premier political socialite was also wearing the most fascinating tie of the evening — black and beaded with the word “Zulu” stitched at the bottom.
He said provincial tourism officials were looking at marketing the tie among visitors.
Smeetha Maharaj of the Nateshwar Dance Academy turned heads in a pink sari.
Her dancers performed two pieces, one of which was an East-West-African fusion that included a Hindi song to which Aishwarya once famously danced.
I also had a chat with fortune teller and Mystic Sister Mellissa Mallaya, who wore a black top over a tan, tight-fitting skirt with a thigh-high slit.
She told me she was involved in catering for the cast of Dhoom 2 in her restaurant in Durban.
Also caring for the cast and crew was Amanda Scott, a member of a standby medical team.
I saw Haroun Hansrot, Durban designer extraordinaire, looking good in a black suit as he sipped his champagne. He had something to celebrate, as his latest designs look fabulous.
•LAST Tuesday I attended the ceremonial demolition of Kings Park Stadium, which will be making way for the King Senzangakhona Stadium in preparation for the 2010 Soccer World Cup. It was a dress-up event where guests were handed hard hats.
Aside from the eThekwini Municipality’s top brass, the event was attended by a number of people involved in the tender process.
Newlywed Surina Ramruthan, who helped put together the event under a white marquee, looked gorgeous in a brown formal suit.
Also there was the manager of Just Japs in Gateway, Jitesh Hiralal.
I bumped into politician Visvin Reddy, looking casual in a blue striped shirt and black pants.
