?Provoked? in IIFA awards! Will Ash attend IIFA this year in Dubai? by Debasis Jana
Aishwarya starrer forthcoming crossover film 'Provoked ' will be screened in this year's IIFA awards, commencing from June 14 in Dubai. Jagmohan Mundhra directed this movie has already been screened in Cannes Film Festival this year, and got huge appreciations also. 'Provoked' is based on a true story of a woman who is a victim of domestic violence and Aishwarya has played the title role in the film. Aishwarya attended the 'Provoked' screening in Cannes, will Ash attend the IIFA awards also? Last year, Aishwarya performed in the IIFA awards ceremony held in Amsterdam; Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan danced with her to the item number 'Kajra Re' tune. If you remember, the trio had taken the audiences by storm with their mind-boggling performance. This year, as per latest, it's not sure that Aishwarya will perform in the ceremony or not. As per close source, Aishwarya can attend 'Provoked' screening in Dubai, however it's not confirmed yet; she is now busy shooting Mani Ratnam's 'Guru' with Abhishek Bachchan. Beside the awards giving ceremony, which will be held on June 16, this year IIFA is also holding a film festival where 31 Indian films, including Hindi and other regional movies, will be showcased. Amitabh Bachchan, who also the brand ambassador of the IIFA awards, will be inaugurating the festival.

Pakistan rejected Aishwarya ?.! by Debasis Jana
Pakistani people apparently boycotted Aishwarya Rai starrer 'Bride & Prejudice', which released recently in Pakistan. The film opened in almost all big centers in Pakistan, but most of the centers withdrew the film half way due to low-key responses. As per reports, peoples rejected Aishwarya Rai because in their eyes, the Bollywood queen is nothing but a very bad lady, who had 'back kicked' actor Salman Khan in love. Qaiser Sanaullah, a member of the Cinema Management Association, said that the major reason why people had not come to watch the film was that Pakistanis sympathized with Salman Khan in his dispute with Aishwarya Rai. "Salman Khan was a Muslim being troubled by 'the Hindu lobby' after he fell in love with Rai and was 'discarded' by her," Sanaullah added. Though in India also 'Bride & Prejudice' hadn't fared very well, but it was expected to do pretty good in Pakistan, as it was the first Aishwarya starrer released in the country.

Vivek criticizes Ash? by Debasis Jana
Those were critical to Aishwarya Rai's Cannes outfits, that instead of wearing an Indian outfit, Aishwarya appeared in a black gown while walking the red carpet in Cannes Film Festival this year, got a new member in their brigade. He's none but Aishwarya's former boyfriend Vivek Oberoi. Vivek, who also attended this year's Cannes Film Festival, however preferred Indian designs to western one in his outfit. Recently in an interview, Vivek, while talking about his dress code in Cannes, said, "I hated the idea of wearing a suit to Cannes. And since I was there to promote 'Omkara', the Indian adaptation of 'Othello', I thought it was best to wear Indian designs. And according to me nothing could beat Indian designs in representing Bollywood in the international arena." However Vivek didn't take Aishwarya's name, but needless to say his definite target was Aishwarya, which was unspoken, however. It can be remembered here; last year Vivek attended the festival, however girlfriend Aishwarya was along with him. Meanwhile they have been broken up. And this year co-star Ajay Devgan accompanied him in Cannes.

Vivek-Ash: Kitne Paas, Kitne Door! by Debasis Jana
Last year in Cannes they had made public appearance holding one another's hand. After one year, the scenario is totally changed. Then they were a happening duo, now they are separated. Meanwhile their relationship has gone kaput. This year both Vivek and Aishwarya were in Cannes, but miles away from each other. Aishwarya busy promoting her next crossover 'Provoked' and Vivek promoting Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Omkara'. In photo session, Vivek struck pose with co-star Ajay Devgan. The spotlight firmly focused on Ash and Ash only. What a tragedy.

?It was hard to believe that this was Ash?! by Debasis Jana
At Cannes Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai left the international press stunned. Aishwarya had been in the film festival for promoting her forthcoming crossover film 'Provoked'. Jagmohan Mundra directed this movie premiered in the festival, also there was two extra shows of the film on two separate days. Last show was on Monday. Overall, the media in Cannes appreciated Aishwarya's performance in the film. On Monday, once the film's screening was over, Aishwarya met the press where she faced lot of bouncers from media persons especially questioning about her dress code. However, the way she tackled them, stunned everybody present there. According to 'Provoked' producer Sunanda Murli Manohar, who was present in the media meet, Ash even gave a media person a mouthful. "It was difficult to believe that this was Ash. The dress code question really ticked her off," said Murli. She said, "Why must we only look at the way the person dresses? I'm here with you this afternoon in a clingy summer dress. You might want to know why I am not dressed more formally. Well, the truth is, I had no time to dress up. I've been running from one engagement to another. And if I had stayed back to dress more elaborately I'd have been late for this press conference. And then you'd have had something else to question me about." Is this same Aishwarya, who always allows herself to be walked all over?
