Brasileirão 2006 - Serie A Results
Yet another weekend and yet another loss for Corinthians. While Santos managed to narrow the gap between them and São Paulo to just five points Corinthians remain at the bottom of the table after loosing one-nil to Santa Cruz in Recife.
In the eagerly anticipated Paulista derby São Paulo suffered the consequences of their decision to rest key players for their Copa Libertadores campaign and were forced to endure a four nil thrashing at the hands of Santos at their home ground Morumbi .
While Palmeiras confirmed their return to form with a four-two victory over Paraná the Gre-Nal gaucho derby ended in a rather disappointing nil-nil draw and was marred by scenes of violence as Gremio supporters took their frustration out on the stadium setting fire to chemical toilets and throwing stones at firefighters who tried to bring the situation under control.

São Caetano 1 x 1 Ponte Preta (Gustavo,81e x Thiago Matias,34e)
