Its not like the Seleção is not accepting the guilt...they do. Ronaldo apologised and said that he as well as the whole team feels guilty. He even expressed that Carlos Alberto Perreira is a very good coach and its not his fault that the team faced an early exit. He said that crutucs were a bit harh and yes they were indeed harsh. Ronaldinho apologised and so did Juan. They felt guilty too and poor Ronaldinho was really sad. Its not that they were enjoying every bit of it. They feel guilty.

You can say all that babe but Ronaldinho and Adriano did party in Barca after the defeat. Does that look like an act of a guilty person? I doubt.

The 2 of u can go and suck a lemon, hump a boar and fly a kite. Nick remember the Ire Crystyline Method which we invented and we worked like a dog for 6 whole months just to get the reasoning done and the application part of it? And we lost to team Narve or whatever they were called by 10 pts. We were bummed out and we flew to Batofar, Paris and let it all loose. In case u dont remember...we destressed ourselves. We consoled ourselves due to the fact that we failed. The same applies to Adriano and Ronaldinho.

A golden future awaits Brazil's youth team

A golden future awaits Brazil's youth team

Still shocked by the poor performance of their team in Germany and with several key players retiring, Brazilian supporters are now looking to the future to see what players might make the Seleção in the coming years.

The World cup 2006 was obviously enormously disappointing to all the supporters of the Seleção. Carlos Alberto Parreira’s men just never convinced. With such exceptional individuals and the encouraging victories in 2004 at the Copa América and 2005 in the Confederations Cup against Argentina, expectations were rightly high.

However today, Brazilians are still digesting little by little the defeat in the quarter final against France, and reflect on the wasted chance.

Nevertheless hope remains for supporters: With the Brazilian team sure to be making many changes before the 2010 finals in South Africa. We look at some of the potential players who may make it to the national side.

Anderson, Eduardo Ratinho, Ji Parana, Kerlon ou Lenny are names which you perhaps have already heard on Sambafoot if you follow the national championship.

This golden generation coached by Nelson Rodrigues are currently preparing for the Under 20 South American championship which will take place next January in Colombia. A squad which in the event of success could make up the base of the Olympic team for the Beijing in 2008 and possibly of the 2010 World cup. That is the idea of youth coach, Claudio Branco himself a world champion in 1994: "This generation is comparable with that of Diego, Robinho or Kaka in term of talents. This team has the qualities necessary for doing well in the next U20 South American championship, the Pan-American games, the World cup and the Olympic Games. Brazil can remain quietly confident because this generation is really good".

Looking at the outstanding young players currently in Brazil there are a few we can highlight as potential world champions. Like Anderson discovered (like Ronaldinho) at Grêmio, Porto Alegre, he joined FC Porto last March and has played in three first team games. He is already a champion at under 17 South American championship level which he won in 2005, and was voted golden boot in the U17 world championship, won a Brazilian championship (second division) medal with Grêmio and finally a championship medal from the Portuguese super league.

Marcelo Grohe is the goalkeeper of this squad. Keeper of Grêmio at 19 years, he is good in the air at shots and crossing and is reassuring tall at 1m88. His substitute Felipe of FC Santos has the talent necessary to compete with him.

The right back position is disputed by two very talented players: Eduardo Ratinho of Corinthians and Amaral of Palmeiras. The first seems to have won the confidence of coach Nelson Rodrigues following his run of form with the Timão. Coveted by Olympic Lyon, he has exceptional power and accuracy when striking the ball, allied with an intelligence rarely seen at his age.

On the left is Marcelo of Fluminense and scorer of 3 goals in 18 games this year, he has been regarded as a revelation in Rio. A complete player who is at ease in offensive and defensive duties, he represents a true asset for this Seleção. The central defense is made up of the duet Thiago and Thiago Heleno-Luizão, both of Cruzeiro.

The midfielder, is the strongest point of this team, already having three experienced players: Ji-Parana captain of the team and midfielder for Corinthians, Roberto of Atlético Paranaense and Anderson. The remaining place is yet to be claimed by Diogo (Portuguesa), William (Corinthians), Leandro Lima (São Caetano) or Kerlon (Cruzeiro), who started his career brilliantly before his serious injury which left out for more than 3 months.

In attack, Lenny of Fluminense remains in great form. Scorer of 10 goals this year and companion of Tuta at the club carioca, he appears to have a brilliant future ahead. Danilinho (Atlético-Mg), Shine Adriano (Internacional) and Marcelinho (São Caetano) should all compete for the remaining position.

This team will nevertheless have to withstand a strong pressure on their shoulders. After Brazil’s early World cup exit, Brazil is expecting nothing but victory from Nelson Rodrigues young men, with the Olympics definitely in mind as the only major international tournament that Brazil have never won. But first comes the South America championship in January. So been certain to keep your eye on this team as the future looks bright gold for Brazil.

I think Dunga's biggest challange is to bring back the team's spirits and get the players in position. And the Ronaldo issue. Will he retain him?
