Ok since my love for soccer is simply outrageous, I decided to start a lil topic for this beautiful game. EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Euro Cup, Copa America, Confederations Cup, UEFA Championships and FIFA World Cup...THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE.
Pls note that this is strictly for football fans or rather football discussion. Lets talk about the game and rejoice.

Ok whats with the referee for this WC? Are they like dumb or sumthin?
My fav has got to be the 3 card trick. Never mind the Portugal v Holland match. I never expected that from Graham Poll. How can he even forget that he has already booked Josep Simunic for the 2nd time. And whats the deal of sending him off during injury time and that too for Simunic's 3rd yellow card? Even Mark Viduka questioned the ref bout it. Honestly Graham Poll needs a vacation.

I heard that the chairman of Newcastle Freddy Shepherd threatened to take legal action over Micheal Owen's WC injury. Is this true?

I heard bout it too. It seems that Shepherd claimed that the FA allegedly arranged a better insurance deal for Wayne Rooney than other England players befoe the Man U dud linked up with the squad after breaking his foot nasty.
Its not what u think Deger. They are not threatening to take legal action on Owen but his injury. Its like a double std play. U get the pic?

Fat boy finally brok the record. I really hope Brazil will kick that balled nut Zizou out. And the whole team as well. Revenge is sweet so 1998 will make Brazil strong. Bring it on France cuz the Samba boyz will wip it up.
And yeah the referees are a bit nutz this WC. I think I can do a better job at that.
Italy are pure lucky to get that penalty.

Honestly ppl, Luis Fifo is no saint, as he proved against Holland, and he plans to make David Beckham's life hell when Portugal tackle England in Saturday's quater-finals. He's been given the all-clear to play after FIFA ruled out further action for a headbutt on Mark van Bommel. The reason why FIFA will not intervene is cuz the ref showed Figo a yellow card.
It goes back to their Real Madrid days. Figo, who played with Beckham at Real Madrid before the Spanish giants decided he was surplus to req and off-loaded him to Inter Milan, preferring the England captain who was once billed as a clothes horse for the Madrid marketing people. So its like this whole ego issue in here.
Who can forget Euro 04 where England lost to Portugal and that too during penalty shoot out. And the thing is Figo was substituted during the match.
So this will be an interesting match.
Now for the Brazil and France fiasco. We all know the hole 1998 issue where Zidane scored a 2 goal wicked just to get the wound started on Brazil. Sweet victory was indeed for France with Brazil trailing 3-0. Then in 02 France was kicked out during the first stage and then the downhill of probs started for Zidane and France too in particular. Even for the current WC match...they were intially written off but with the 3-1 victory over rival Spain they seem to be getting the jest of it and that too Zidane.
Now that they will be meeting Brazil its like this whole scary affair back to haunt. Brazil...lets go and kick the ass of those French gaouts.
