Shah Rukh in Subhash Ghai?s next! by Debasis Jana
If everything goes right, showman Subhash Ghai may be seen in his old avatar again; Ghai, as per latest wants to direct a movie, which will have Shah Rukh in the lead. Last film, Ghai directed was Vivek Oberoi starrer 'Kisna', however it couldn't fare well at the box office. At present, Ghai is on lookout for a right script. "It's at very initial stage now, however that much I can confirm you that Shah Rukh Khan will play the key role in the film and A.R. Rahman will compose its music," revealed Subhash Ghai recently in an Internet chat session. Subhash also revealed his willingness to cast Salman Khan for his production. However he will not be directing the movie. "But it will feature Salman Khan's best performance to date," Ghai said.

Amitabh-SRK war, Part III Wednesday, June 07, 2006 | Entertainment
Shah Rukh Khan's camp boycotts IIFA, of which Bachchan is brand ambassador
Ram Kamal Mukherjee
After Ram Gopal Varma shelved his Time Machine with Shah Rukh Khan in favour of Amitabh Bachchan-starrers in Nishabd and Ram Gopal Varma Ke Sholay, Shah Rukh Khan was naturally upset with the filmmaker. Taking this a step further, Khan has decided not to attend the IIFA (International India Film Academy) awards this June in Dubai, of which Amitabh is brand ambassador.
Abhishek Bachchan is expected to walk the ramp with Aishwarya Rai as a surprise act during the awards. SRK, who has never openly talked about any rivalry with the Bachchans, has preferred to avoid the award function. ?Shah Rukh holds Amitabh Bachchan in high esteem, and he is friendly with Abhishek Bachchan too. But off late, there has been some professional discord between them, which they are trying to sort out,? says a close associate of Shah Rukh Khan.
When the IIFA officials extended an invite to Shah Rukh Khan to attend the award, he politely declined the offer saying that he wouldn't be able to attend due to prior commitments. The award organisers believed that he would be busy shooting for Farhan Akhtar's Don. However, Akhtar's shoot is expected to wrap up by next week, after which Shah Rukh is expected to leave for a family holiday.
Incidentally, most SRK loyalists are boycotting the award ceremony too. When contacted, choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan, a very close friend of Shah Rukh, said, ?I am not attending the award function because I will be busy with Sajidbhai's film Jaaneman, (which is directed by her husband Shirish Kunder)." When asked about Shah Rukh Khan, she added, ?I think he will be holidaying with Gauri and his kids in London during the awards, so most likely he will have to skip the ceremony.?
Another Shah Rukh loyalist, Karan Johar, will also be skipping the award ceremony. ?I think you should ask Karan, but as far as I know he will be busy with the post- production work of his film Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna, which is slated for an August release,? says Farah. Even Priyanka Chopra is not expected to be present at the award show. ?Priyanka is working with SRK and she needs to be in his good books,? says a source.
Incidentally, when Shah Rukh Khan was asked about problems with Abhishek during the shooting of KANK, he had brushed it off, saying, ?I don't have many scenes with Abhishek in this film. I have seen his performance and he is doing really well. I have known him before he became a star, I know him as Amitji's son. I am also fond of Shweta and her daughter. I always tell Jaya aunty that her kids are the most well-mannered in the industry. Gauri is very fond of Abhishek and he visits us often. He is very much a part of our family.? But this relationship seems to have soured after the Time Machine fiasco with Ram Gopal Varma.
WHERE WILL THEY BE INSTEAD?
? Shah Rukh Khan will be away on a family vacation in London
? Farah Khan will be working on Kunder?s film Jaaneman
? Priyanka Chopra will be busy in Mumbai
? Karan Johar will be busy with the post-production of KANK

Why Ram Gopal Varma dropped ?Time Machine? starring Shah Rukh? by Debasis Jana
Ram Gopal Varma shelved his much-talked about venture 'Time Machine', which would see Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan for the first time in a Ramu's film. However it didn't work out finally. Ramu has decided to start 'Sholay' remake instead starring Amitabh Bachchan. Any conflict between him and Shah Rukh? Ram Gopal denied any difference or spat like thing between them. "I regularly interact with him. As a person I do respect SRK very much. He's a very intelligent man. But as an actor, Shah Rukh is someone I cannot connect with. I am not saying he can't act. But he's expected to be projected in a certain way. I'd have been doing a disservice to him and me if I went ahead with our project," reasoned Ram Gopal. Now, Ramu is all to start his 'Sholay'. I can't sleep in the night. I am that excited about 'Sholay'. With SRK's project, I felt I was going back to school. I hated school. It was work. I didn't grow up watching Shah Rukh. I was informed that he's a superstar. On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan is superstar to me because I sat in the theatres of Hyderabad as a boy watching all his films."

?Garam Masala? gal roped in opposite Shah Rukh Khan! by Debasis Jana
'Garam Masala' gal Neetu Chandra is in demand. Neetu, born and brought up in a Bihar's small town, apparently going places in the tinsel town. From Priyadarshan to Madhur Bhandarkar, she is being approached by almost all the leading directors of industry. As you know, Madhur Bhandarkar has signed up her for his 'Traffic Signal' and now as per latest yet another big assignment to come in her way. As per reports, director Shimit Amin of 'Ab Tak Chhappan' fame has all set to cast Neetu in his next titled 'Chak De'. It will be based on the Indian Hockey team, and Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan will play the team's coach. Needless to say Neetu, who will be sharing screen space with SRK for the first time, is flying high at present. Sure, it will add more spice to her image.

Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna: Countdown starts! by Debasis Jana
It's almost two months away from Karan Johar's next 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' release, but speculation about this Shah Rukh-Abhishek-Rani starrer is already on high. People eagerly wait for Karan Johar movie. And this time curiosity is even more as it will see director Karan Johar's comeback after a short hiatus. Karan's films always have very impressive ensemble of stars. In 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' also, Bollywood's top-rated stars have been featured together. From Abhishek Bachchan to Arjun Rampal. And as ever Karan's buddy Shah Rukh will be seen in a pivotal role in the film. And as per female leads are concerned, Rani Mukherji and Preity Zinta will play the sizzlers. So the craze is obvious. And over the more, the stars and the film's director, everybody keeping quiet, when asked about the film, which caused people's curiosity, go even higher. And after the film's promos got aired recently, it's been a talking point overnight. As per recent buzz, Karan Johar got over forty text messages on his mobile on the first day of the promos, and everyone he speaks to is going ga-ga about the film. 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' is schedule to release on 11th August. Whether it will manage to hit the box office or not, only time can say.
