Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman in abuse flick?
[Unconfirmed news item]
For many years Bollywood enthusiasts have longed to see the top three Khans together on the big screen, and this dream cast may well come true, if rumours are to be believed.
According to ‘a Bollywood trade analayst’, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan are being ‘cornered’ into starring in a film on the sensitive subject of child abuse.
All three actors are to be given pivotal and substantial roles in the production, with Aamir Khan’s character at the centre of the abuse storyline.
All three actors will play roles of their age, and not college going youths. Shah Rukh Khan will play the father of two teenage girls, one of which gets murdered, laying the blame on Aamir Khan’s character. Aamir himself will also play a married man with a young child. Salman Khan’s role in the film is of the police officer investigating the death of Shah Rukh Khan’s teenage daughter.
Where does the child abuse angle come in, I hear you ask. Well the story begins when the three are teenagers themselves. The young Shah Rukh, Aamir , and Salman are close friends. One day, while playing outside, they are befriended by a ‘police officer’. The young Aamir is made to get in the car but never returns. A search is called and he is later found in the basement of some derelict house. He has been abused by the so called ‘police officer’. The lives of all three friends are shattered, and they start to drift apart.
Years later, all three are grown up. Shah Rukh’s character on the outside is a family man with a small business, but in fact he is a well-renowned gangster. Aamir’s character, after going through what he did when he was a child, is a loner who works as a labourer. His marriage is on the rocks and he is being alienated from his only child. Salman Khan has become a successful police officer, but his marriage is in tatters, as his wife has left him and wants a divorce. After the police fail to find the murderer, Shah Rukh Khan, with the help of his gangster associates, kidnaps Aamir Khan. He believes that Aamir killed his daughter. The ending of the film sees Shah Rukh Khan kill Aamir for revenge, later finding out that he was not the murderer.
All three actors are happy to work together on this project, but want the story changed, as it is too much similar to the Hollywood smash hit Mystic River. That film starred Sean Penn (Shah Rukh Khan), Tim Robbins (Aamir Khan), and Kevin Bacon (Salman Khan).
If the actors sign up then three leading ladies will also be cast, to play opposite them. Kajol opposite Shah Rukh, Karisma opposite Aamir, and Aishwarya in a guest appearance, opposite Salman Khan. Those are the three being touted.
This insider has not disclosed the name of the director who is planning this ambitious project, but one can only think one specific director, when it comes to sensitive and out of the ordinary films.
Let’s hope that this project does lift off, and we finally get to see the Khan magic times three.
