Buddies matter to producer Sajid Nadiadwala while making crucial decisions. Keeping his friendship with Salman in mind, Nadiadwala has postponed the release of his film Heyy Babyy by a month as it was clashing with Salman's Hollywood debut Marigold.
Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala Heyy Babyy was slated for release on July 27 and will now release on August 24 to avoid any clash with Salman's Marigold which releases on July 27.
Sajid says, "Salman has two back-to-back releases, his home production Partner and his Hollywood debut Marigold. I have always maintained that my company is Salman's company. It wasn't a big deal when I learnt that Partner was releasing on July 20 and Marigold on July 27, which was my release date for Heyy Babyy. The least I could do was to postpone my film."
Sajid further says, "I have known Salman now for over 15 years. I used to know him but we became very good friends during the making of Jeet and ever since we have been best of friends. He is one of the people I am closest to in the industry and he is like family to me. It is a pleasure for me when I could be of some use to him."
Heyy Babyy stars Akshaye Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh, and Vidya Balan and also marks the debut of Sajid Khan as a director.

Humko toh yaara teri yaari paise se pyaari By: Upala KBR June 2, 2007 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Producer Sajid Nadiadwala delays the release of Heyy Babyy! so that best bud Salman Khan’s films don’t face competition
Friends Forever: Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala
Friendships are rare in the film industry. But the friendship between producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Salman Khan has stood the test of time (15 years).
So much so that Sajid has postponed the release of his next production, Heyy Babyy! starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan and Vidya Balan by a month so that his friend Salman’s two biggies Marigold and Partner (Sohail and Salman’s home production) don’t face any competition. A chat with Sajid Nadiadwala on his ‘friendly’ act:
Have you postponed the release of Heyy Babyy!?
Yes, It was suppose to release on July 27 but then I discovered two Salman’s films, Marigold (on July 20) and Partner (on July 27) are releasing almost back to back. So I decided to push back the release of Heyy Babyy! to August 24 though we finalised the date three months ago.
There is no question of clashing my films with Salman’s films. I must say he never told me to do anything. We don’t discuss these things. Heyy Babyy! is Salman’s home production too.
Won’t delaying the release burden you with financial problems?
No. I won’t face financial problems though there will be some difficulties with promotion but we have sorted that out. I sat with my distributors, Eros, and worked out a promotion plan.
But this may upset your other heroes?
Why should they get upset? All they need is a good release.
You’ve known Salman for the last 15 years and have done many films with him. Was he upset when you signed Akshay Kumar for ‘Heyy Babyy!’?
With Salman, one never knows whether he’s upset or not. We’ve never had a fight till date. Also when Sajid (Khan) was finalising his cast for Heyy Babyy!, we were shooting in USA for Jaan-E-Mann. Sajid had finalised Riteish and Fardeen and wanted me to talk to Akshay.
Salman was there and I told him about it. He was absolutely fine with it. Then Jaan-E-Mann got delayed and we started work on Heyy Babyy! The other film with Salman also got delayed so people had this ‘nahin hoga’ attitude.
But what people don’t know is that Salman and I share a rapport that goes beyond work. From 1995, when we did Jeet till Jaan-E-Mann, Salman has never discussed a single script with me. For financial matters, I talk to his dad and that takes just three seconds. Salman is incomparable.
What’s so special about him?
His loyalty. People love him for it. Sometimes I feel he does not belong to this world. He is so different. I try to be a good human being and producer but I can’t match up to even 25 per cent of him.

Salman finds another Khan buddy in Aamir >>>
Jul 01 Himesh longs for ex-mentor Salman’s blessings Posted by Tanushree Chatterjee
Now, I did not use ‘blessings’ out of my own will, that’s how Himesh Reshammiya puts it. I know I’m writing about Himesh bhai again. But this time, it’s not just the pretending-to-be-hot singer-turned-actor but our own hot Salman Khan himself. Yes, the two arrogant heads.
There was a time in the tinsel town when Himesh swore by his mentor’s name as Salman was the Godfather to him in an otherwise indifferent film industry. Sallu introduced him through films like Kahin Pyar Na Ho Jaye, Pya Kiya Tho Darna Kya, Yeh Hai Jalwa and the recent Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya.
And did I mention ‘Tere Naam’… after this film he tasted his first major success and dedicated his music to one man, i.e., Salman. As I said… Tere Naam Pal!
But like all the filmi jodis, this filmi dosti also came to a tragic end. After Himesh bhai’s nasal avatar and cap ‘n’ beard hit saga, Sallu seems to be very khafa with him. And he didn’t even wish him luck for his debut film.
Now Salman be a little sporting and send your good wishes to your old buddy… and mind you he really needs them. Come on, I still like Himesh bhai… but obviously the composer!

Coffee. Break!
Salman Khan and Govinda often create mayhem at Barista at Bandstand by sipping coffee for hours there. The mobs that collect lead to regular breakage and spillage

Govinda with Salman Khan
Salman Khan and his close friend Govinda are having a lot of conversations over coffee these days. The two actors frequently visit the Barista coffee shop at Bandra Bandstand to unwind, notwithstanding the commotion that follows suit whenever they do so. Their loyal bodyguards are often unable to control the mob threatening to break into the shop.
The actors who indulge in lot of PDA may remain unfazed by the surrounding commotion. However, the staffs of the coffee bar (who are otherwise fond of Sallu and Govinda) inform that attending to other customers at that time becomes extremely difficult. On most occasions, they have spilled drinks and broken cups while clearing the tables. A few have even bore the brunt of blows and elbows, and chairs and tables have been broken.
When quizzed about it manager Sudhir Pandey says, "It's a little difficult as the mob wants to grab Salman Khan. We have dropped drinks and other food items while trying to serve amidst the crowds."
Sallu and Govinda made an entry here late in the afternoon yesterday and spent an hour sipping coffee. We hear Salman usually settles for a mug of Caffe Americano (black coffee) and Govinda swears by the regular cappuccino. This time around they also exchanged greetings with other customers present at the coffee shop. Says an eyewitness, "As soon as Salman and Govinda walked in, people started gathering outside. There was complete mayhem. Onlookers kept climbing on each other just to get a glimpse of the actors. People were hooting, screaming and banging on the door. I had to struggle to get out of the place."
Pandey further adds, "Whenever Salman is in town he comes here for coffee. He doesn't have starry airs, nor does he demand any particular table. He sits at any table that's available."
