Govinda-Sallu bhai bhai

Reportedly, Salman Khan was extra generous to Govinda, and let him have the meaty portions in David Dhawan's Partner
Stories of Salman Khan's largesse are numerous. Involved in several charitable ventures, he has now started showing unprecedented generosity towards his co-stars as well.
Govinda, with who Salman plays a prankster in David Dhawan's Partner vouches for it. Rumour has it that Salman has virtually allowed Govinda to walk away with the show. The film's director says, "Salman has certainly been generous, not just as a producer of Partner but also as a co-star. Partner is my ninth film with Salman and 17th film with Govinda. They're both like my brother and friend respectively. And I was a little worried what their partnership would look like."
Initially, Govinda was apprehensive after being, in his words, put on a tight rein in Bhagam Bhag. But Salman completely put him at ease. "I've never come across a more generous co-star and producer," says Govinda emotionally.
David Dhawan says, "The chemistry between Salman and Govinda is amazing. Govinda will surprise everyone. People will see him the way they like to. But we've also kept changing comic tastes in mind. It's a very fresh script on male bonding. And not that Lara and Katrina aren't looking good. But it's Govinda-Salman's show all the way. Salman has been so gracious with Govinda. Salman has taken good care of Govinda, never behaved like a star. The three of us are like one family. We hide nothing from one another. On the sets if I asked Salman to let Govinda take over a scene he gladly moved back. 'Theek hai dialogue de do. Woh bol lega.' That was his attitude. This casual generosity makes him so endearing."

Sallu cheers for Vivek By: Nishant A Bhuse May 26, 2007 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ALL PRAISE: Vivek Oberoi and Salman Khan
Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi seem to have put their differences over Aishwarya Rai behind them.
Salman not only attended the premiere of Vivek’s latest film, Shootout at Lokhandwala, on Thursday, but is also said to have been very impressed by his performance as gangster Maya Dolas.
Salman arrived at the premiere at Fame Cinema in Malad with girlfriend Katrina Kaif.
A source seated near Salman said, “It was shocking to see Salman engrossed in the film.
He cheered Dutt and Vivek’s powerful confrontation scene before the interval.”
Former ATS chief (Additional Commissioner) Aftab Ahmed Khan, on whom the character essayed by Sanjay Dutt, S S Khan, is based was seated a couple of seats ahead of Salman.
He said, “Salman freaked out on the film. He said he liked the way Dutt and Oberoi portrayed their characters.”
When asked about the film and its performers, Salman said, “It was cool.”
Salman is known for abruptly leaving events, but this film was exceptional.
“He was glued to the film from start to finish and appreciated the performances,” said producer Sanjay Gupta.
Vivek left on a US trip on Friday morning and was not available for comments.
The Famous Rift
In 2003, Oberoi claimed at a press conference that Salman had threatened to kill him, accusing him of having an affair with Aishwarya Rai, who Salman had been dating before that.
Alleging that on a single night Salman had made 41 phone calls to abuse him, Oberoi had registered a formal complaint against Salman.

Goa turned out to be the favoured spot
Idyllic Goa turned out to be the favoured spot for India’s jet set to ring in the New Year at the stroke of midnight Sunday. Bollywood stars, India , politicians, cricketers and other Indian celebrities as well as thousands of other tourists gathered in Goa to usher in 2006.
Amitabh Bachchan topped the list of Bollywood stars and personalities, who preferred to bid adieu to 2005 and say hello to 2006 from the sandy shores of this former Portuguese colony.
Bachchan flew in to Goa accompanied by his industrialist friend Anil Ambani and politician-friend Amar Singh in a private chopper.
Also in Goa in time to see the sun set on 2005 was Shah Rukh Khan. He was the guest of beer baron Vijay Mallya. Salman Khan, his brother Arbaaz Khan and wife Malaika Arora also made it here as guests of Goa’s well known fashion designer Wendell Rodricks.
Besides Amar Singh, Petroleum Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar also landed in Goa to be part of this state’s much-hyped New Year revelry. Congress MP and Indian Olympic Association chief Suresh Kalmadi was another VIP to set foot in Goa and he is staying at the Taj in North Goa.
India’s cricket hero Yuvraj Singh sent fans into a tizzy when he made his appearance at a couple of nightspots in the Calangute-Baga belt. Sachin Tendulkar, whose family owns a bungalow on a sea-facing plateau in South Goa, was also rumoured to be in Goa, but made no public appearances and the news could not be confirmed.
Celebrities apart, residents and visitors, particularly those who drove down in their own vehicles from neighbouring Maharashtra and Karnataka, headed to the coast where colourful fireworks displays and music kept them tapping their feet from the stroke of midnight on Sunday.

Shootout ... on the red carpet
Vrushali Haldipur CNN-IBN Posted Saturday , May 26, 2007 at 02:58 Email Print
Mumbai: When one film has so many stars in it, no wonder Bollywood showed up in full strength at the premiere.
But it's all about timing. So the opening of Shootout at Lokhandwala saw some rather tactfully planned appearances.
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif came in first, while Abhishek Bachchan without his better half chose to make a late entry and the Amitabh Bachchan decided to skip it all together.
“It’s a very nice film and everyone’s done great work in it. It’s a great storyline,” said actor Suniel Shetty.
The multi-starrer thriller by Apurva Lakhia, is based on the real-life encounter between the Mumbai cops and the underworld in 1991.
“I think by the time everyone finishes watching it I would have left because I’m so nervous right now and very excited,” said actor Tusshar Kapoor.
This being Bollywood's big release this week, the celebrations were on an equally high note.
“I’m scared because it’s the first time I have seen so many people together at the same place,” said actress Dia Mirza.
So will Shootout at Lokhandwala make just as much noise at the box office? We'll just have to wait and watch.

Salman Khan painting fetches a whopping crore! 29 May 2007 (Sawf News) - Overnight Bollywood brat Salman Khan has turned into a painter of considerable repute, having sold a single painting for Rs One crore. It remains to be seen, however, whether the buyer was motivated by his love of art or simply sucking up to Salman.
At a recent Mumbai art auction organized by Ramola Bachchan for Plan India, a well-known charity, Salman Khan's painting was about to be sold for Rs.20 lakhs, which any novice artist would consider 'very good'!
But Salman Khan, reports Mumbai Mirror, was confident that his art was unique and extraordinary. So when Plan India seemed to accept the bid of Rs.20 lakhs, he walked onto the stage and pulled out his offering from the auction and waited for an opportunity to sell it for a better price.
It seems that Ramesh, an art lover, heard about Sallubhai pulling out his painting from the Bachchan auction and contacted the actor.
"The deal between Salman and Ramesh took place over the phone," adds Mumbai Mirror, "He bought the painting for Rs. one crore yesterday."
Salman had earlier been reluctant to put the painting on auction because he felt the emotion behind the painting – the love of a mother for her child – was priceless. He had determined to sell it only if he got the price he had in mind for it.
However, fellow actor Anil Kapoor convinced Salman to bring his painting for the Plan India auction.
Now that Sallu has received the happy price, he has changed his mind and decided to donate the money instead to the new Salman Khan Foundation.
He had earlier donated his prize money from KBC show with Katrina Kaif also to this foundation.
"This NGO organizes charity shows and benefits the needy by supporting them," confirmed Salman's father Saleem Khan to Mumbai Mirror.
