well im happy for theo.. he scored earlier in Englands U21's game against moldova..apparently he played 66 minutes and scored in the 3rd minute!
well everyone who has worked with him has given him big wraps! now even Taylor the U21's Boss is giving him big wraps too..
"he will live up to expectations if he gets some games"

welp lets hope it can only get better for the lad

Scores after 3 mins - does bugger all after that - if he was truely the 2nd coming you'd think he have bagged another couple of goals.

Hopefully he should figure in the leauge cup sides this season and hopefully some more gamers too

well reports say he lacked service from the midfield

His goal was nothing. I went along to Landsowne Road to see Holland's first team beat a virtual Ireland B side.

Robin Van Persie scored one (brilliantly) and created another for Holland. He has such composure that you wouldn't believe it. He has a habit of cutting in from the right side and giving himself beautiful left-footed opportunities.

Shame about the result and the fact that all the greedy English premiership clubs won't release Irish players for Internationals - more of the rot from the Roy Keane days

Van persie is one of the players that i think has finally grown up the past one year. Although a lot of EPl clubs are still underestimating him, they will be in for a big suprise. He just seems a different player that now knows what everybody wants from him and if he gets going him and Henry will be a double treat to EPL teams. I remember he had that rape charge at the start of last season and when he eventually got going he got injured. The kid is back and ready to explode.
I also think Walcott is very talented but people must give this boy time to grow up, he might not play alot this year but i think Wenger sees him as Henry replacement.

You ppl must have heard the recent transfer speculation about Hargreaves being offered a move to united, but do you think he is good enough for Man U? I dont pay much attention to the Bundesliga, i dont no how to spell it either, so ive only ever seen him play for england. Yes he was very good at the world cup, but can we judje him on a few performances?
What are you thoughts?

shouldnt be more then 5 million. if he is. RIPOFF

Hargreaves is terrific when he plays in a holding midfield position. The only problems are when he gets shifted him around the pitch. Hargreaves will be an excellent signing

I think Hargreaves would be a good buy if it is possible. I know we don't get to see much of him in this country right now but McClaren gave him a chance in an England shirt  moving Gerrard out wide to get a better balance. If Hargreaves or Carrick are gonna be the main men to play centrally for England with Lampard then it can't be a bad thing that they play together for us in the future as I think they are different enough to not step on each others toes. Ultimately if we have a good english partnership playing in  central midfield maybe McClaren will have to think about playing them both if his claims of the best players don't always make for the best team are genuine. Carrick/Hargreaves I really think could work. It was proven in the match. He was named MOM.

yes, Hargreaves is good enough. 5 mil?! at that price he would be a steal but eric, Bayern would tell us to f off. he would probably cost above 10 mil.

LIVORNO, Italy (AP) - A small group of Croatian fans formed a human swastika midway through an exhibition game with Italy on Wednesday.

Sitting on one end of Livorno's Armando Picchi stadium in a section walled off from Italian fans by large barriers, about 200 Croatian supporters arranged themselves into the Nazi symbol about 30 minutes into Croatia's 2-0 win.
Livorno is known as a left-wing town and the Croatian fans were apparently trying to incite the home fans.

Police eventually moved in, forcing the fans to stop.

Croatia should just end their bid for the 2012 Euro now- who wants to play in that filth?

you're that bitter after loosing a friendly?....

I think any sane Italian fan wrote this game off before the start. Going in with a completely brand new team and coach, I think we all knew we weren't going to beat a WC Croatia team. Aabout time somebody started to see their true nature

Am still proud of him. Helb is the player that really improved at the end of last season. He is really very skillful and is one of those players that bring a lot to the team but it goes under the rader. What i liked last season was that we finally found the balance between using both the right wing and the left wing onlike years past that we focused on the left to the detriment of the right wing. I unfortunately think that we might be a little bit short in the left if we loose both Reyes and Cole. What do you guys think?

Are you serious
he has so many great qualities....
Played for bayern more than 200 games played in the european cup many times, Shone in the World cup, 5 million is a rip off? Your kidding right? He will be a quality signing; Carrick should be 5 million hargreaves should be 15 mil...
He has experience has solid dependable character, Good feet, good pace, strong tackler, strong in the air, scores goals and more importantly knows how to command the midfield. He will be an invaluable asset to the club and the fans... But, i don't think Bayern will let him go with his 4 year contract...

should McClaren play him there or should he remain in centre midfield? with Beckham dropped I thought Lennon would be given his chance but it doesn't look that way.
I'd put him in the center with Hargreaves and replace Lampard with Lennon on the right, I know its harsh but Gerrard is a better attacker than Lampard and with Hargreaves in the middle Gerrard will be able to do what he does best
Stevie will be first choice over Fat Lampard either way. McClaren has named him Vice-Captain which means that Stevie will more likely than not play in the middle with Fat Lampard and Lennon,SWP (if he can get any time of day at cheski) or Pennant will play on the right. Hargreaves had a decent world cup but can't be picked over Fat Frank or Little Lennon
the problem is Lampard is perhaps too good a player to be left out, even though he had a poor world cup. McClaren is probably trying to play them both, although not together in the centre like Erikson did, but unfortunately this is at Lennon's expense.
I think this can be sort out by next euro cup.. too early to plan. Who knows wright philips, pennant or ....... gets revive in this season or next season. Eitehr way it was proven at Liverpool that Gerrard can play the RW effectively and better than most but he SHOULD play in the center and be free to roam. Lampard is one dimensional, and as good at attacking as he is his defensive shortcomings get hidden by Makelele and Essiens defensive skills. Lampard is like the kid at school who does one thing for a big project and gets as much credit as the rest of the group. i think in a friendly McClaren should give this midfield a shot and see if it is explosive, if not keep Lamps in

.......Hargreaves.......

Lennon..............Cole

.........Gerrard........

Lennon or SWP SHOULD be given their chance

He should be brave and go for dropping either StevieG of Lamps - either one dropped would make little impact to the team with Lennon out wide right.

Downing shouldnt even be in the squad - time to give Barry another crack of the whip. THe team looks very much same ol same ol

On form Lennon should be infront of Lampard and i'm not sure about Downing either but this is somewhat of a make-ship team so why worry?. Stevie will do a job wherever he plays and he might not play him as a out and out winger anyroads.

Haha I don't think Downing is international material but Gareth Barry is monkey poop mate !!!!

What did I say, play Gerrard where he should be and the results will show. Too bad, the Swede was too dumb to see it.

I still think Gerrard could do much more in the center with Hargreaves but until McClaren gets up the nerve to bench the useless blue the RW will have to do. My only complaint was that occasional he would drift in too far and it left a gaping hole on the right, sometimes Stevie even seemed to be wanting to pass it to the right winger before realzing it was him

Strachan cool on Gravesen chances
« Reply #847 on: August 19, 2006, 08:35:17 PM »

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan is interested in signing Real Madrid's Thomas Gravesen but is concerned by the midfielder's possible wage demands.
"We would have to have a look at it but there would have to be some homework done on wages," said Strachan.

"We would like to try and keep him within the structure that we have got here just now.

"But I think it's unfair to speak about anybody who is not here, it is unfair on the team, the player and our fans."

Danish international Gravesen was expected to make a decision over his future this week, with Celtic one of four possible destinations.

Real Madrid have told the 30-year-old he can leave for any club willing to pay their £2m valuation.

The former Everton midfielder has previously said he would prefer a return to the English Premiership.

But agent John Sivebaek told BBC Sport that Celtic were still being considered.

Celtic have turned down approaches from Aston Villa and Portsmouth for Stilian Petrov.

But, if the Scottish champions were to sell the Bulgarian, Gravesen may be seen as an ideal replacement.
