Reliance India Call Review : RelianceIndiaCall


RelianceIndiaCall or Reliance India Call calling card started off with a bang and became the number 1 calling card that Indians use to call India. The call quality was great and connection was easily setup. Compared to other alternatives like letsdial, 9278, Pingo and Raza, RelianceIndiaCall was expensive. Reliance charged at 12 cents a minute for a start and then moved to 13 cents and then removed the tax part making it 13 cents for most calls.



We have been using Reliance India Call phone cards all these days mainly because you do not waste time ... dial and call !! But in the past few months, relianceindiacall's service has degraded a lot. We started getting busy tone for the 1800 number (rarely though) and faced busy tones for the region we are dialling (frequently ). Call quality also came down a bit. But still this was the tension-free calling service and if one wanted reliability, this was the one to go for !!

But then came in AirTel Call Home plan with its 8 cents a minute and double talk time offer. The call quality of Airtel is comparable with Reliance (read complete reviews from the menu on the left before deciding). And this will definitely challenge reliance, atleast on the pricefront. RelianceIndiaCall recently announced festive season rates (till Jan end 2007) of 7.8 cents per minute and double talk time for new signups. But wait !! But ....

we have received complaints from readers like Sajan Mandal who says: "It was really unethical on the part of RelianceIndiaCall to not give the promised double talktime during the whole offer period. It gave double minutes for 2-3 days after the launch of the advertizement and since then decreased the offer." .. So we are not sure if their offers can be trusted !!




Overall RelianceIndiaCall is still the most reliable calling card. If you do not care about the rates and want a reliable service, reliance india is the way to go. But you can definitely save a LOT if you are calling a lot by using other services and especially if you are calling big cities, other cards like letsdial, raza, 9278 are better deals.

I have been using the card for quite some time now and i can say that except days like diwali, christmas and new year the service has been fantastic. no dropped calls and nice sound quality. though they are costly as compared to other service providers but it is better than others too.

I have been using Reliance Indiacall for over a year now and it has been fantastic. I have used and researched on all types of other calling cards and these guys are much much better even if a bit expensive. It seems like a local call to India. Also, I dnt really go for offers and all those marketing gimmicks, so life is hasslefree for me with Reliance.

Happy customer thus far (1-yr) though haven't tried recharging the 2nd time for double minutes yet. Precisely what's the fine print? I can't find it on the web site.

1. Connectivity poor. I have been using this for last 2 years or so. Reliance started as a great service but has been problematic for last one year.

2. Customer service: the worst I have come across. The person refused to note my complaint and told me to call again. Website refused to accept emails.

Never put too much money on Reliance- Reliance cannot be trusted!

This is the best card I ve ever used.You can get so many offers the entire year round that you get the satisfaction of talking to your loved ones at such cheap rates.The lines are very clear and no problems are encountered while making the calls.Please try this card and you will never feel like using any other card.

I have used reliance before and the call quality is good but it’s too expensive. What’s the difference between reliance, aircel, pingo and usp. They are the top calling cards used but I would say pingo is the most cost efficient and value for money.

Hi, I used to call india with relianceindiacall, the service which they providing us is very nice, pinless dialing feature, connecting very fast, no one can beat relianceindia to making calls india.
Reliance means Reliable.

In Airtel we have good offers all the times..Before recharging check both reliance and airtel...

I have used relaince extensively for the past 6 months from the bay area and the call quality is very decent. During the offer days I stacked up on the double talktime and have never repented the decision. But calling non metro cities has a stiff surcharge. Like when I once called Assam mobile phone in india, it took out 100 minutes from my account for just 5 minute call duration. So it may be cheap for only reliance serviced areas in India? any comments?
