JaJah: A Voip company that is too good to be true

With the voip service being a growing industry many companies are trying to gain control of the voip world and many companies have failed. Vonage is a great example of how some voip companies fail. Vonage spent millions of dollars on advertising and getting their name out with funny commercials being aired on TV but what these commercials did not do was explain what their service does and this eventually lead to them to their downfall.

Other companies have taken a much simpler approach to getting their name out in the voip world, they offer a good service with a easy to navigate website where interested users can see what the companies' service is all about. They can see rates, different plans and options and compare rates with different companies. A good company website can let users get a feel and understanding of what this company is all about and what the company can offer customers and why the customers should use their service.

JaJah, is a strong example of how to use a website as a marketing tool to attract attention to their product. On the JaJah website, JaJah has different sections explaining their service and allowing potential customers to see the rates of the average competitor. What makes Jajah a little too good to be true is their offer of service. They seem to act more like a wireless phone company, with their offer of free calls to other JaJah users. JaJah offers free calls to other JaJah users in all of the major countries including the United States, China, Canada and Thailand. The only fallback of this service is the free calls are only valid on landlines and not cell phones.

JaJah's rates a bit higher than most phone card companies as Reliance and Pingo and some others have lower rates. One very interesting fact about making calls to India using the JaJah service is it actually cost more to call from a landline than it does to call from a mobile phone. I believe the reason for this is because it is probably a lot harder to reach someone in India with a cell phone as there is the possibility for a weak signal. Overall, the JaJah service isn't as special as they claim to be as they have higher rates than most phone card companies and in order to have an impact on the voip market, they need to rethink their strategy.
