SACHIN TENDULKAR to start playing soon

Yes. Good news for the millions of Sachin fans all over the world who will do anything to see the master blaster back in the field. SACHIN TENDULKAR will be back in the field after he underwent an arthroscopic surgery to his right shoulder on March 27, this year, in London. Diagnosed with a posterior labrum tear of the right shoulder, Dr Andrew Wallace performed the surgery in London’s Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth to stabilize Tendulkar’s shoulder joint and reattach a damaged bicep tendon to his upper arm bone.

Because of the prayers and heartfelt best wishes from all the Desifans, Sachin recovers very fast and started a rehabilitation program after returning home on April 05, 2006, from London. Now Sachin is due to begin his light batting drills any time and probably you can see him in the field this week.
Though Sachin has been ruled out of the one-day series set to begin from May 18, the latest assessment by John Gloster, Cricket Board’s physio-therapist has raised hopes that the Cricket legent would be fit for the Test series against West Indies beginning June 2. However, the BCCI, in its press release said Tendulkar has been advised further strengthening exercises as well as more functional shoulder activities.

Injured or not, one thing is certain, SACHIN TENDULKAR remains the biggest brand in Indian sport as of now. On May 3, 2006, Sachin finalizes the three-year extendable contract with management firm ICONIX, the value of the contract is a million dollar secret. As per the guess work of sports marketing sources, it is in the tune of Rs 180 crore, a figure neither Tendulkar, nor V. Shantakumar, CEO and MD of Saatchi and Saatchi, confirmed. If it is of any interest to Desifans, it may be recalled that Tendulkar’s landmark contract with WorldTel, which expired last year, was in the region of Rs 100 crore.
