Cricket : Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman run out of luck ?
The first Test at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai had a bad start because of rain, but the overall situation for Sourav and Laxman is no bright either. Both of them are under intense pressure, thrown out from the ODI squad lately, and constantly targeted by India cricket team coach, captain, team selector and what not. The rain soaked pitch is not the best arena to perform, but even then, Sourav and Laxman each scored only 5 runs, and Sourav gave 16 runs in 2 overs, all these scores will certainly not brighten their future.

Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar are tied on 34 Test tons, and certainly fans have lots of expectations on Sachin who scored only 22 runs in 126 balls with 2 boundaries, before he was out (lbw by M Muralitharan). Sachin is of the opinion that both the coach and the captain should have a say in the team selection, since they finally select the team of 11 players.
For the Delhi Test which gets underway on December 10, the selection committee, headed by Kiran More, have decided to retain the 15 players named for the ongoing first Test in Chennai, for the second Test against Sri Lanka. The team for the third Test, in Ahmedabad from December 18-22, will be announced on the fourth day of the Delhi match.
Squad:
Rahul Dravid (captain), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Sourav Ganguly, Mohammad Kaif, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wicketkeeper), Anil Kumble, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Ajit Agarkar, Rudra Pratap Singh, Murali Kartik, Gautam Gambhir.
