Bollywood: Preity Zinta sues Mumbai Mid-Day
Preity Zinta on the ground of publishing Salman Khan-Aishwarya Rai false tape on Mid-Day filed a defamation case against the Mumbai daily in the magistrate’s court. Preity Zinta chose to file this criminal defamation case against Mid Day’s top brass editor, publisher and printer because other than Mid Day no other newspapers or TV channels carried the part of conversation that referred to the actress in a controversial way.
Preity Zinta did not make any comment to the Mid-Day journalist when the story broke out in last July. She said until she wont be sure about the tape she would not make any comment. The application and the matter will be produced to the court in Dec. 13.
To counter the case Mid Day editor Lajwanti D’Souza said, “It is something on record (the tapes); we just reproduced it. We feel bad about it, but that is what it was.â€ÂÂ
However, police in his forensic report said that the alleged conversation between Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai in the tape is false and does not match to their voice.
