Mallika Sherawat is grateful to superstar Jackie Chan

Bollywood sensation Mallika Sherawat is getting a chance to star in the film ‘The Myth’ (director Stanley Tong), to start her international acting career. “I did not imagine that I would get a chance to star in a big movie like ‘The Myth’,” the actress said at a press conference at Kuala Lumpur along with co-star Jackie Chan.

Her previous films like ‘Murder’ and ‘Khwahish’ had made Sherawat attract media attention for her bold and unconventional roles. But ‘The Myth’ is an action packed movie which fuses modern times with the Qin warrior epic. Jackie Chan plays a double role of a warrior and an archaeologist while Sherawat plays a character named Samantha. “Although I have never done an action film and was so exhausted to the point of tears at times, I am proud to be a part of this challenging movie,” Mallika Sherawat commented.

Jackie Chan, 51, told reporters at the press conference that he was confident Mallika would be the perfect choice for ‘The Myth’, in spite of the fact that Jackie did not watch any of Sherawat’s films. There was a interesting scene in the movie where Mallika’s blouse comes off, leaving her topless on the set, and Jackie was supposed to close his eyes during the scene. However, when the shot was being taken, Jackie “forgotâ€? his “promiseâ€?, but Mallika is no conventional actress, so no fuss, no tantrum, she laughs it off by affectionately calling Jackie a ‘rogue’. On his part, Jackie Chan made sure it was a closed set so that she wouldn’t feel uncomfortable and Mallika gave due credit to her co-star for making her feel comfortable on the set during the scene. Mallika sure knows the tricks of the trade !
