Bollywood: Anil Kapoor murders his wife !!

This is the theme of the box office hit film, “My Wife’’s Murder” directed by 29-year-old Jijy Philip, where Anil Kapoor accidentally murdered his wife. For Philip, a former TV journalist, who had been working with Ram Gopal Varma for the last five years , “My Wife’s Murder” is his directorial debut . Other actresses are Nandana sen (selected by director Jijy Philip ) and Suchitra ( Verma’s choice) who will make you think, “ Why did I marry in the first place ? ”

The Telugu version of the movie was little different in the sense that the husband did a good planning to kill his wife deliberately. That has caused few eyebrows to raise and there were protests on that issue. But the Hindi version is depicted as an act of accident on the part of the husband. Once the murder took place, the poor husband is in a state of shock and the film is all about how the husband cope up with the traumatic and stressful mental condition.

As a director, for his debut film “My Wife’s Murder”, it was the biggest challenge for Jijy Philip . Director’s real job is in proper understanding of the emotion of the characters and choosing the casting accordingly. Philip has assisted Ram Gopal in much successful films like , “Company”, “Bhoot “, “Road” and “Jungle “, is now busy preparing for his next venture, “Shock”, also a Varma production. Jijy Philip speaks about the film, “Definitely, the film was a challenge for me and the final draft of the script was prepared after working on it for six months. The film that is on view today is the 12th draft of the original script. The script was good, but I along with my script writer tried to delve deep into the mind of Ravi Patwardhan, the protagonist. Both of us worked on all kinds of psychological details possible and tried to incorporate them into the film.”
