Shah Rukh Khan the next Don of Bollywood

The Amitabh Bachchan–Zeenat Aman starrer blockbuster bollywood masala film Don will be recreated by Farhan Akhtar but this time the chhora ganga kinare wala, Big B will be replaced by Shahrukh Khan. Farhan’s father Javed Akhtar along with Salim had scripted the earlier version of Don.

Currently Farhan is working on the movie script after Shahrukh’s consent on the idea of the project. Priyanka Chopra will cling on to Zeenat Aman’s character in the film and Kareena Kapoor will step into the sexy shoes of Helen. Arjun Rampal will also be a part of this project.
Shahrukh Khan was humble enough to say, “I personally enjoyed Mr.Bachchan best in Don. I have grown up on AB’s film and have always wanted to look the way he did. To smoke a cigar the way he did, to walk like he did. I am thrilled that Farhan is remaking Don. But like Devdas, this too will be my interpretation of Don. To act like Mr.Bachchan did & be paid for it! Do I love my job or what?” and then he chuckled.

The film will be shot between February and June of 2006 and as Farhan said” Amitabh Bachchan will not do any cameo in the remake as it would be too gimmicky. Besides, Don isn’t an archival classic like Devdas. Don is familiar to today’s generation. I don’t want to aggravate the comparisons by getting Mr. Bachchan into my remake of Don”.

So countrymen, do not be disheartened without Big B andhis khaike pan banaraswala, rather expect something more thrilling from the badshah of bollywood, Shahrukh Khan. Wait and watch how the old wine tastes in a new bottle fermented with King Khan, hot Priyanka Chopra, sexy Kareena Kapoor and last but not the least suave Arjun Rampal and also will the hot and sexy actresses of this generation be able to mimic the charisma of the yester year superstars?
